A web catalog of transparency

We set out to prove that online catalogs can be user-friendly and generate return traffic.

O-I

O-I is the world’s largest glass packaging manufacturer. To facilitate its customers in finding the right O-I product, the company decided to bring its glass catalog online. The briefing was clear: the interactive directory had to be easy to use and enable users to store the products that they selected for future reference.

Consistent and intuitive

The design is inspired by O-I’s corporate website, in order to maintain consistency in their visual communication. We created an intuitive catalog structure to make sure that visitors can easily find what they’re looking for. For future reference, users can register and then store their favorite O-I products, or download product information in PDF format. To arouse curiosity and garner interest, we created a teaser animation that was published ahead of the launch of the e-catalog.

Global application

We first made the European glass catalog, but soon after O-I commissioned Australian, New Zealand and Indonesian versions. A while later we were asked to create a Latin American glass catalog, proving the universal applicability of our original design. All online glass catalogs have the exact same look and feel, but are populated with local content.
